Welcome to My Hospitality Pal, a division of Hit The Road Today Global Adventures (Pty) Ltd. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal and business information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your data when you use our platform, in strict compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA").
1. The Information We Collect
Because we operate a two-sided B2B marketplace, we collect different information depending on how you use the platform.
Information Collected from Suppliers (Sellers):
-
Business Details: Company name, contact person, email address, phone number, and physical address (for deal collections).
-
Listing Data: Product details, pricing, stock levels, and images.
-
Financial Information: We process Listing Fees & Lead Generation Fees via secure third-party payment gateways. My Hospitality Pal does not store your raw credit card numbers on our servers.
Information Collected from Buyers (Customers):
-
Contact Details: When you submit a request for a deal, we collect your name, business name, business type, phone number, and email address.
-
Intent Data: We record which deals you claim and whether your intent was "Accept Offer" or "Interested".
Automated Information:
-
Like most websites, we automatically collect basic analytics data, including your IP address, browser type, and how you navigate the site, using cookies to ensure the platform functions correctly.
2. How We Use Your Information
We only process your information for specific, lawful purposes related to operating this marketplace:
-
To Facilitate Connections: The primary purpose of this platform is to connect Buyers with Suppliers. When a Buyer claims a deal, we use their submitted data to instantly notify the relevant Supplier.
-
To Manage Billing: We use Supplier data to generate monthly lead-generation invoices and process upfront listing fees.
-
To Maintain Quality Control: We review Supplier listings and monitor platform activity to prevent fraud and ensure accurate marketplace inventory.
-
To Communicate: We will send you transactional emails (like new lead alerts or payment receipts) and occasional administrative updates regarding platform rules.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or business data to third-party marketers. Your data is only shared in the following specific scenarios:
-
Buyer-to-Supplier Transfer: When a Buyer clicks "Accept Offer" or "Interested" and submits their details, we instantly transfer that data to the specific Supplier hosting that deal. By claiming a deal, Buyers provide explicit consent for this transfer.
-
Supplier Obligations: Under our Terms and Conditions, Suppliers are bound by POPIA. They may only use a Buyer's data to facilitate the specific transaction requested. Suppliers may not add Buyers to unrelated marketing lists without obtaining separate, direct consent.
-
Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services (like Wix.com for hosting and databases, and payment processors) to run the platform securely. These providers are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
-
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by South African law, a court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our platform and users.
4. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or destruction. This includes using secure, encrypted database architecture provided by our hosting platform. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
We keep your personal information only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, to resolve disputes, and to comply with our legal and tax obligations in South Africa.
6. Your Rights Under POPIA
